De todas as fórmulas do Imperativo Categórico - ou maneiras diferentes de expressar o princÃpio fundamental da moralidade - a da humanidade é provavelmente a mais atraente intuitivamente. No entanto, apesar de seu apelo intuitivo, mesmo seus elementos mais básicos – o que exatamente deve ser tratado como um fim em si mesmo, o que está envolvido em tratar algo como fim em si mesmo, e por que deverÃamos aceitar esta exigência moral básica – são supreendentemente confusos, e até mesmo controversos. Meu objetivo, neste ensaio, é oferecer uma análise consistente destes pontos básicos, além de identificar interpretações alternativas, sem abrir mão da força intuitiva do princÃpio de Kant.Referências
